Project Spotlight: Net Zero Learning in Action 🌱

We’re excited to share new photography of St Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Deal, showcasing a future-ready, low-carbon learning environment designed with schools in mind.

Built using a low embodied carbon timber frame, the school adopts a ‘fabric first’ approach to minimise energy demand from day one. This is supported by a fully integrated net zero strategy, including air source heat pumps, hybrid ventilation with heat recovery and 136 photovoltaic (PV) panels paired with a biodiverse biosolar roof.

🌍 The result is a highly efficient, comfortable learning space that reduces operational costs while supporting pupil wellbeing and environmental targets.

Delivered within a live school setting and achieving full Department for Education KPI scores, St Mary’s demonstrates what’s possible when sustainability, performance and education come together.
