We have yet again proved to be the very best in our industry by winning 2 awards at the National Federation of Builders (NFB) Constructing Awards of Excellence! We’re delighted to have been crowned the winners of both ‘Training Initiative of the Year’ and ‘Building Contractor of the Year: England – Turnover over £15m+’

The awards celebrate the exceptional contribution of companies and individuals throughout the UK’s construction industry and were held at London’s Chelsea Harbour Hotel on 7th April and hosted by Cathy Newman from Channel 4 News.

In presenting the award for Training Initiative of the Year the judges noted “Baxall’s commitment to training is exemplary and multi-faceted” and praised the company for “punching well above its weight when it comes to training”. Meanwhile for the Building Contractor of the Year award the judging panel was impressed that Baxall is “a regional firm with national aspirations… a company not just talking about diversity but delivering on it.”  The Training Initiative of the Year award was sponsored by City & Guilds with Pearce Construction Highly Commended within the category. NFB Major Contractors Group sponsored the Building Contractor of the Year (England: turnover £15m+) award with Henry Boot Construction and Erith Contractors both Highly Commended.

Reflecting on the evening’s success, Baxall’s Managing Director, Malcolm Clarke, said: “We are thrilled to win both these awards – especially in light of the recent challenges we have all faced within the industry. As an innovative SME we continually strive to set the highest standards in everything we do, from our clear focus on health and safety and net zero to our unwavering commitment to staff development. Winning Training Initiative of the Year is particularly special to us as Baxall’s Director for Training and Development, Steve Turner, passed away suddenly at the end of 2021. Steve played a key role in developing Baxall’s outstanding training academy and we proudly dedicate this award to his memory.”

A huge well done to all who worked on these award submissions, but as usual, we couldn’t have achieved this without our high calibre staff and supply chain, so thank you all.

Congratulations to all the winners, and well done to each and every one that made finalists.
