March 2021 saw us hand over the highly anticipated £10.2m Southborough Hub, a new-build, mixed-use community facility for the residents of Southborough and High Brooms on the outskirts of Tunbridge Wells, for client KCC.

The main 2-storey Hub building comprises a library, community rooms, 350-seat hall/theatre space, office facilities for Southborough Town Council, the new St. Andrew’s Medical Centre and adjacent pharmacy. To the rear is a new self-contained Sports Pavilion for Tunbridge Wells Youth Football Club and a large workshop/garage area to accommodate Southborough Town Council’s gardening maintenance team, with yard space for maintenance tasks and staff welfare area.

We opted for a Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) Streif closed timber panel solution for both the main Hub building and Medical Centre, while the Sports Pavilion was built using Integra modular MMC.

Despite challenging groundworks – including a full site remediation to remove contamination from a buried petrol tank – and a three-week closure at the start of the pandemic, we proudly handed over the project defect-free and on schedule. As testimony to our successful delivery, we have since won the contract to undertake facilities management (FM) across the entire Hub complex.
