Our Journey to Platinum

At Baxall Construction, people are at the heart of everything we do. That’s why our journey with Investors in People (IIP) has been such a defining part of our story, a journey that began in 2000 and has grown into one of our proudest achievements.

A commitment that started over two decades ago – we first partnered with Investors in People at the turn of the millennium, recognising that our continued success depends on how we support, develop and empower our people. Over the years, we’ve worked diligently to rise through the IIP accreditation levels with each step reflecting our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

Gold in 2018 – A milestone of pride

In 2018 we were proud to achieve Gold Accreditation — a major milestone that reflected the strong culture, values and leadership we had built together. But we didn’t stop there.

Platinum in 2021 – A legacy achievement

Just three years later, in 2021, we reached the pinnacle: Investors in People Platinum Accreditation. It was a moment of immense pride for the whole team and a testament to the way our people live and breathe our values every day.

We are especially honoured that our late Contracts Director, Steve Turner, played an integral role in this achievement. Steve’s dedication, leadership and belief in investing in people helped shape the culture we continue to uphold today. His legacy is deeply embedded in this success.

Platinum retained in 2024 – Demonstrating ongoing excellence

Reaching Platinum is one thing but maintaining it is another. In 2024, we successfully retained our Platinum status, proving that our commitment isn’t a one-off achievement but an ongoing part of how we operate. Investors in People Platinum is a recognition held by fewer than 2% of UK organisations and we’re incredibly proud to be among them.

Our IIP journey reflects what we already know to be true: Baxall is a great place to work. IIP is more than an accreditation, it’s a cornerstone of our business. It reflects our culture, our values and our dedication to continuous development. We believe in creating a workplace where every individual can thrive, grow and feel proud to be part of the journey. We’re honoured to be recognised at this level and even more motivated to keep raising the bar for our people, our clients and our future.

According to our most recent survey:

  • 100% of staff feel positive about the future.
  • We ranked 11th out of 200 construction companies of our size.
  • We ranked 203rd out of 2,300 organisations of the same size across all industries — placing us in the top 10% for survey scores.
