Future Leaders

Innovative Future Leaders Programme (IFLP)

At Baxall, we never rest on our achievements. We understand that past successes doesn’t guarantee future triumphs, which is why we continually push ourselves to innovate and think creatively. By encouraging our teams to embrace fresh ideas and challenge conventional thinking, we’ve earned a reputation for solving complex challenges in the built environment through out-of-the-box solutions.

One of the key ways we foster innovation at Baxall is by investing in the development of our current and future leaders. The Innovative Future Leaders Programme (IFLP) is a 12-month initiative developed by SECBE and supported by Constructing Excellence and the CIOB, designed to accelerate leadership growth within the built environment. Led by Olympic medallist and leadership coach Sarah Winckless MBE, the programme combines quarterly two-day residential workshops, one-to-one coaching and real-world project challenges. It equips our senior staff with the skills, confidence and strategic thinking needed to approach problems creatively, lead with purpose and drive meaningful innovation across the business.

By embracing change and evolving with the times, we expand what’s possible, ensuring that Baxall’s future is just as successful – if not more so than its past.

Fostering Talent Through
Education & Training

How the Innovative Future Leaders Programme (IFLP) supports Baxall’s future vision:

  • It prepares next-gen leadership by equipping high-potential employees with coach-led tools and innovative mindset, the programme ensures Baxall has capable leaders to drive future growth.
  • It harnesses internal expertise as participants bring back cross-sector insights and innovation tools, from tech giants to government, to influence change within Baxall.
  • It embeds a culture of innovation. The focus on tackling a real business challenge aligns with Baxall’s broader strategic initiatives (like their KTP with Innovate UK), enriching the company’s approach to digital innovation and sustainability.
  • It strengthens our succession planning: It dovetails with Baxall’s broader talent development strategy, from trainee schemes to MCIOB qualifications, ensuring a steady pipeline of well-prepared leaders.
