A Contracts Manager is the senior team member responsible for each project from tender stage through to handover and post-completion.
They work alongside the Client and Design Teams to ensure the project is delivered to agreed timescales, budget, quality standards and in a safe manner. The Contracts Manager leads and motivates the in-house project team comprising the Site Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Design Co-ordinator and Buyer. While not site-based, they regularly undertake visits to carry out reviews and inspections and participate in Client meetings. It is common for a Contracts Manager to oversee multiple projects at any one time.

“I have managed projects at art galleries, schools, prisons, police stations, libraries, science research facilities, exclusive penthouses (for the rich and famous!) and even a planetarium in London. No two days have been the same in my 40 years in construction”
